Bar Elir
Bar Elir enjoys a reputation throughout Lamedon for possessing the most fertile soil in the entire fiefdom - a gift of the converging rivers that annually deposit rich sediment across the surrounding fields. The farmstead sprawls across the river junction with numerous homesteads, grain storage barns, and water-powered mills taking advantage of the strong currents where the two waterways meet. Unlike the sheep-focused settlements of northern Lamedon, Bar Elir specializes in intensive agriculture: wheat, barley, vegetables, and orchards that supply Calembel and contribute to the food stores of Dol Amroth. The rivers also provide abundant freshwater fish, particularly prized in coastal cities where Bar Elir's fishermen trade their catches. During planting and harvest seasons, the population swells with temporary laborers from less fertile areas, creating a lively atmosphere uncommon in the usually sedate countryside. The confluence itself is marked by an ancient stone bridge - possibly of Númenórean construction - that carries the eastern road toward Pelargir. The prosperity brought by fertile land has made Bar Elir's buildings more substantial than typical farmsteads, with several manorial estates belonging to wealthy landholder families who pledge allegiance to Lord Angbor in Calembel.
