Gri Takım, çağlar önce krallıklarını kaybetmiş Arnor krallarının soyundan gelen Dúnedain Korucularının son örgütlü kardeşliğidir. Kendi yurtları olmadan Kuzey'de at sürerler, isimlerini unutmuş topraklarda barışı korurlar. İlk sadakatleri Elendil soyuna olsa da, gezginlikleri onları medeni topraklara getirdiğinde Orta Dünya'nın dört bir yanındaki lordlardan sözleşmeler alırlar.
