Trade Cog

The cog was developed by shipwrights on the western coasts of Calradia to travel long distances and weather the fierce storms of the ocean. Its ancestors were similar to the Nordic knarr or the Battanian birlinn, but the cog evolved to become much taller, broader and heavier. It serves both as a trading vessel and as a warship in the navies of the Vlandian and Battanian lords who now rule these coasts, the latter usually mounting a stern castle.
