Silwen

Silwen, brought in dower from a sister-house of Pelargir to the House of Eärnurionath, has the bearing of the sea-roads in her speech and the wariness of the haven-watch in her eye. She wedded Calion in the autumn of her three and thirtieth year, and to her dowry she added a chart of the southern shoals drawn by her grandsire who fell at the burning of the quays. With her husband she holds for the King returned, for she has seen, year upon year, how the Corsairs grow bold while the City waits, and waiting alone shall not now suffice.
