The Drúedain, known to Men as Woses or the Wild Men of the Woods, are an ancient people who dwell in the deep forest of Drúadan and the hidden valleys of the White Mountains. They clear ground with fire, grow what they need on the ash-rich soil, and move on when the land is spent — a way of life the settled peoples of Middle-earth have never understood and never bothered to. The Drúedain want no lord, pay no tax, and ask only to be left to the forest's silence.
