The Beornings

The Beornings are the great woodmen who dwell in the vale of the Anduin between the Misty Mountains and Mirkwood, led by the skin-changers of Beorn's line. They allow no Orc to cross their territory, charge a toll at the Ford of Carrock to fund their watch, and answer to no king in Middle-earth. Though they will trade and talk with Elves and Dwarves, any army that marches through their forest without leave will find that the Beornings have very large teeth.
