Purebred Horse
As you leave the village, one of your cavalry recruits proudly presents to you a new horse he purchased. Maybe it's not the fastest beast on four legs, he says, but it's strong and spirited - he saw it fighting another of the trader's horses. You run an eye over the beast and see that your man was sold a mule, its ears cleverly cropped to resemble a horse's. The creature is strong enough but far too stubborn to serve as a cavalry mount. You know that your man will be the laughingstock of your company for weeks.
